Boat Club

The Windmill Village Boat Club is the gathering together of both men and women, either boat owners or non-owners of Windmill Village, both property owners and renters.

The broad interests of the club are Pleasure Boating, Fishing, Sailing and other activities around the marinas. There are no dues. There are about 75 boat club boosters registered with the secretary

Boat Club Poker Run Information Sheet

BOAT CLUB…..Poker Run Information Sheet

Who:  Anyone wishing to go by boat, car or motorcycle.
When:  Monday, March 7th
Where:  We are going to Harbor Heights Park on the North side of the Peace River.
All: Meet at the WMV marina at 10:45 AM.  Here you will pay run officials $6.00 for each poker hand.  Each car or boat can purchase as many hands as they wish.  Boat club gets half, the worst poker hand wins $15.00, the rest goes to the winner.  Best of 7 cards.
Food:  Pack a lunch and drinks.  There are tables and restroom facilities.
BY WATER - BOATERS
Do not leave WMV until 11:00AM or as instructed.  If you have a VHF Marine Radio Monitor CH: 68.
First chip: WMV Marina
Second Chip: Oyster Bar on Alligator Creek
Third Chip: Harbor Heights Park
Fourth Chip: Elks Club Dock on the South side of the Peace River, proceed to the western entrance of P.G.I. (Colony Point) on the south side of the entrance to the Peace River.  This is the last marked channel before entering Charlotte Harbor.  Follow the canal to…..
Fifth Chip:  Ponce-De-Leon Park dock at the boat ramp, then proceed back to Alligator Creek via the canals and the cut through the mangroves or via Charlotte Harbor.  Note: The cut thru the mangroves is a very pretty trip and calm if the harbor is kicking up.  The water is shallow (less than 2.5 feet in places at low tide). Watch the tide and follow another boat if unfamiliar with this route.
Sixth Chip:  Rubin’s Dock just past Tarpon Canal on Alligator Creek.  Watch for run officials.
Seventh Chip:  5:00 at the WMV clubhouse.   Trade your chips for your poker hand at this time.  Boat club meeting follows at 7PM. 


BY ROAD - CARS, MOTORCYCLES
Do not leave WMV until 11:30 or as instructed
Two Chips: WMV Marina at sign in.
Two Chips: Harbor Heights Park
Two Chips: Ponce-De-Leon Park
Last Chip: WMV Clubhouse at 5:00.
To Harbor Heights Park:  Take I75 across the Peace River. Turn Right at the 1st exit after the bridge. Go East 1.4 miles. At the end of the divided Hwy. turn right. There is a park sign pointing the way.
